Privacy Policy

RECEIPTS is an informational legal-research website. This policy explains the data the current launch version uses and where it is processed.

No case-file cloud storage yet. Do not upload sensitive case documents because RECEIPTS does not currently provide a secure Case Folder or case-document storage system.

Information stored on your device

Bookmarks, personal notes, recent searches, saved Receipts, Help drafts, display preferences, and return-to-task state are stored in your browser using local storage. They remain on that device/browser unless you clear browser/site data or, after signing in, you deliberately choose the account backup feature.

Payments

Optional support payments are handled by Stripe on Stripe's checkout pages. RECEIPTS does not receive or store your full payment-card number. Stripe may collect payment, identity, fraud-prevention, and transaction information under Stripe's own terms and privacy practices.

Hosting and technical data

RECEIPTS is hosted through Cloudflare. Like most hosted websites, infrastructure providers may process technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as network, device, request, and security metadata.

Privacy-first site analytics

RECEIPTS may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page visits, referring pages, browser/device categories, navigation behavior, and performance so the site can be improved. This setup is not used for advertising, does not add RECEIPTS tracking cookies, and is not intended to identify individual visitors. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors' personal data. RECEIPTS does not place questions, notes, document text, or payment-card details into analytics URLs.

AI and research text

At launch, AI_ENABLED=false. New AI research and AI explanations are paused. Local Help tools can process text in your browser without sending it to an AI provider. If AI features are enabled later, this policy will be updated before those features are sold or relied on as a paid service.

Official-source links

When you open an external government or other official-source website, that site receives your request and applies its own privacy practices.

Your choices

You can clear locally stored RECEIPTS data through your browser's site-data controls. If you use an optional account, authentication and any cloud backup you deliberately create are stored through Supabase; account deletion/export controls will be expanded before paid account features or sensitive document storage launch.

Last updated September 14, 2026. These starter policies describe the current RECEIPTS launch configuration and should be reviewed as the product adds accounts, document storage, subscriptions, or AI research.

Optional RECEIPTS accounts

You can use public research without an account. If you choose to create or sign in to an account, your email address and authentication/session information are processed by Supabase so the sign-in can work.

After the secure account data table is enabled, signed-in users may choose to back up browser-based RECEIPTS data such as source bookmarks, saved Receipts, search history, and drafts to their own account. RECEIPTS does not enable court-document or case-file uploads in this account stage.

The browser uses a public Supabase project URL and publishable key. Secret/service-role database credentials are not placed in the website.
